Middle School Music

Welcome to the Tinker K-8 Middle School Band site! Our band program is has been growing and thriving in the last couple of years. We have seen growth from just 19 7th and 8th grade band members in 2020 now to 55 7th and 8th grader band members- Go Tigers!

Pictured above is the 2021-2022 6th grade band. They started playing their instruments in January of 2022 and by May they were jamming along with Randall Standridge's "Shadowfire" . At Tinker, our 6th graders have the opportunity to experience all of the electives that we offer on campus when they start school in August. After their first semester, they get to have their choice of an elective to finish off their first year.

Aside from Band and our 6th grade "Wheel" class, students are able to take an elective called "Exploring Music". In this class we explore many, many aspects of music: its' history; various styles and forms of music from all periods and cultures; and even try out different instruments!

Below you can see a small selection of our final performance of the 2021-2022 school year. On the left is our 7th&8th grade band performing selections of John Williams' incredible film score to the Star Wars Saga. On the right is our 2021-2022 6th Graders nailing Randall Standridge's Shadowfire!
